Washington Roadtrip: Day 6

Saturday morning-the kiddos playing in the kitchen with magnetic stones and looking at a book....
It was a very hot day and the sky had an orange tint to it as there were some fires going on several miles away. This day turned out to be especially adventurous and we decided it was time to move on.;) So we packed up and got on the road, again.;)
Several miles later we saw the fire trucks along the side of the freeway where they were fighting the fire.....
A few hours till Ridgefield, WA-still in Oregon....
Oregon had some really beautiful scenery along the highway....
Shadow puppets to pass the time....
 Gas stop....
Sprite soda for a little one feeling sick....
We got to see a lot of fields and old barns along the way....
Another beautiful sunset to end the day.....
 Enjoying the ride, guys?
Another view of the lovely sunset....
GPS-God's Providential Services-Momma made that up!;)
Another billboard we saw, it reads: "If you die tonight? Heaven or Hell? 855-FOR-TRUTH John 3:36
 Driving into the Portland area....
 City lights....
 ...means city traffic.;)
Here we are!!:)
We pulled in nice and late to the Brimlow home and of course they fed us a hearty dinner with warm greetings, before we all went to bed well past midnight.;)

Washington Roadtrip: Day 4

We woke up the next morning to a typical morning in Oregon in the summer-nice and hot. Judy had often told me about her home and showed me pictures but it was much prettier in real life than the pictures captured.

Judy-full of life and warm love!:) We really enjoyed getting to know her better and seeing some neat places in OR.
The boys playing before taking a morning walk with Mrs. Ahrens....
The walk was very pleasant and the boys made good use of their new hats and vests from Sportsmans'.;)
 Picking blackberries along the way....
Behind the neighborhood is what is called the "canal"-here we are beside it.
It was beautiful! This water is used for everything by those who buy the rights for it, from time to time.
 A birthday photo....
Mrs. Ahrens has a neighbor who has quite a few signs at the entrance of his property....
Picking blackberries was definitely the highlight. Caytlin took this picture-it's so pretty!
 Everyone was enjoying them!
A few berries for Daddy to see....:D
Back on at the house the boys were thrilled to pick apples....
Mom put the little ones down for a nap and Mrs. Ahrens took the rest of us in the motorhome to Pottsville to see the old equipment there and look around the old town.
Taking a picture with some sort of machinery....
 Some fun cut-outs....;)
 Love Ryan's farmer look...
 Posing with a wheel barrel...
 Exploring....
After that Mrs. Ahrens drove us to the Hobe River where we enjoyed a picnic....
We sat beside the river on the rocks while we ate....
The current was too strong to swim in but the boys really enjoyed wading and skipping rocks...
 Visitng...
Swallow's nests' under the bridge above us...
A picture with Mrs. Ahrens before leaving....
We really enjoyed our outing with Mrs. Ahrens to Pottsville and having the picnic at the river to end the fun afternoon!
The older ones spent the afternoon while Momma and I went grocery shopping with the little ones....
We had a barbeque for the evening-here we ladies were prepping the food....
Mrs. Ahrens  and I enjoyed visiting again, it had been 3 months since we had talked or seen eachother.
 Lots of fresh yummy fruit....
Playing contently with magnetic rocks we got on out tour at the Shasta Lake Caverns...
 Ryan manned the burgers!
 Almost ready to eat...
Us older ones ate inside with Mrs. Ahrens....
While Mommy and the little ones ate out on the patio....
 Clean-up after dinner....
With all the apples we had picked we decided to make Apple Crisp for dessert for the next day.....
We ended the day by showing Mrs. Ahrens the new movie God vs. Evolution-by Ray Comfort- a really good one!!
