An Overdue Post-Part 3

Mommy's 40th birthday was a very special, crazy, fun day!;) It started off with Natey making breakfast-pizza-dillas! They were very yummy!:)
After that we presented Mommy with her birthday cards!
Daniel drew this picture. Mom says this character is most like her-patience does not come naturally to her....:P

This year for her birthday, Mommy wanted to go to the restaurant where she and Daddy had their wedding reception! As he had been gone during their anniversary, it was a good opportunity to celebrate that as well!:) The church where they were married is just behind the restaurant so we quickly snapped a few photos in front of it.:)
Sorry it's a bit blurry because of the smaller size...:P Here's the original in front of the church which is now an Easter Seals.
20 years, and 9 children later!
The original in front of the Silver Palace!
Now a quick one with Daddy in front of the restaurant!:)

Us kiddos-we enjoy going to this restaurant as we have seen video tapes of the wedding and reception and it's almost like a re-play for us!;)
With mommy!

This is the table where they sat and Daddy and Mommy always sit in the seats they sat in for the reception!
Snapping a picture of the couple!:)
Here's the original picture.;) That IS sparkling cider that Opa is toasting!:D
"What to order...." We all like chinese food, especially orange chicken.
 Evie enjoying her highchair...:)
"The boys really enjoyed drinking the tea-with sugar!;)
Showing Timothy how to use the sugar packets......
 Hot 'n Sour Soup-so yummy!!
A family picture:D We graduated from one table to two!;)
Joshua enjoying his soup! our little blonde chinaman:)
"More tea, please?" Having the tea is half the fun.
The owner always remembers us and is glad to see us. Daniel is asking for a special order...
This is typical-Daddy is usually the center of attention!:)
The chinese were smart They knew when to drink the tea because the cup was cool enough to hold. As a young Sunday school girl my mom has memories of being taken out to lunch and having tea at a similar type of chinese restaurant.
Almost all of us used chopsticks. Isaiah opted for the fork.
 Attempting the chop sticks.......
Timmy, Joshua and Nathanael had chopsticks which were already tied together with rubberbands.;)
Shrimp with lobster sauce, lemon chicken and pork fried rice were among the selected plates.
Afterwards, we went to the nearby Cosco where we bought ice cream bars and then drove down to the bowling alley!!
This is Daddy's hometown-Whittier. He used to bowl on a league here.....they have all-you-can-bowl for $8-including shoes!!
This was the first time some of the younger kids had ever bowled! We had a lot of fun and the time flew so fast!
Timmy, Caytlin and I ready to go, with our highly fashionable bowling shoes!;)
Mommy really enjoyed this and she got a couple strikes...after many gutter balls!;)
Timmy could hardly carry the smallest bowling ball so he rolled it and yes...sometimes threw it.....:P
Everyone is having a lovely time.;) Unbeknownced to Mommy there was some secret texting going on........
Meanwhile she is happily enjoying the afternoon.......;)
 Joshua-hanging out with my purse.;)
Evie did NOT bowl, she did watch though and keep those of us waiting for our turns entertained!

And so, we all piled into the van tired and ready for dinner! The secret texting continued and Mommy offered to drive home. We stopped for pizza at Gondola's a special nostalgic place and then headed home. Once we got home, Daddy took Mommy to the store to pick up some last minute things and when she returned home, she was greeted with the suprise-the secret texting had paid off!!!!!!:D
 Surprise!!!!!!!:D
Dinner with the Paus!!!!:D I love this picture!
Sarah said the look on Mom's face was worth it all-we had a crazy time with last minute changes and they were SO flexible!!! We had such a wonderful evening!!:D
Josiah is always excellent company!
"You definitely made it HARD to surprise you, Mrs. Sebo!!"
Gondola pizza is located in Whittier where my Dad grew up. Friday night's were often "Gondola Pizza nights!" This is a mom and pop place and they are very generous with the toppings.So. what's special to Dad is special to all of us as well.
Evie loves to play with the Pau girls...and the boys too!;)
"Whew-we pulled it off!;)" We had quite a time letting mom decide what to do for her birthday and making sure we got back in time to meet the Pau family. Mom is very spontaneous and famous for changing her mind! She keeps us on our toes:)
Pizza, 7-layer dip, rolls and lemonade....
Nicole made her famous cheesecake with mint.....my mom really likes mint!
 Timmy and his friend Victoria!:)
Mommy really enjoys eating outside
Jeffery, Daniel and the rest of the little boys enjoyed Daniel's collection of home made wooden swords and guns
Mrs. Pau (Jeri) and my mom are two peas in a pod. My mom says it's always good to have friends that understand eachother. They are both young at heart :)
My mom said they made her birthday "super special!"

Evie of course, got plenty of attention. The Pau's are very fond of babies.
The guys eventually made their way over to the computer...

Part of Mom's birthday present was lunch at Souplantation- just Mrs. Pau and her!

                                                           Have a good time!

It's always fun to look back on a day AFTER the stress of keeping it a surprise is passed. Why do we worry when the Lord already has every detail taken care of?

Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret—it only causes harm.
